I started my love of gardening with seeing my grandmothers garden at her home in Nova Scotia, Canada. She always had so many neat plants and flowers and took such wonderful care for them. My mother has a wonderful garden too. I would go home to her place for a visit and weed it for her as she tires easily with her MS. I just love the colors and the variety of flowers out there and decided to try my hand at my own garden. With buying my very first home with my husband I tried my hand at making the plot and picking the right flowers to go in it. It was fun and a bit nerve racking as I didn't want it to look too cluttered, too many different colors....you know, all the things that new gardeners worry about.
I will first show you some of my inspirations for gardening I took while living in Virginia with my husband. I lived in a very well to do area that had gardeners and also those that did their own gardening...anyone that would take the joy of gardening and give it to someone else and actually PAY them to do the work of gardening is missing out big time. That's just my opinion and hope that I don't offend anyone that actually has a gardener....especially if he's hunky. LOL
These pictures I'm going to show you are from my old neighborhood in Virginia. I LOVED the landscaping in this area and thought that some day I'd love to have my place looking half as good as these people had theirs. I think you'll agree that the placement and combos of flowers and shrubs are fab. There are more shrubbery and bushes in these pictures but still amazing.
Opps......still trying to figure out the image placement. Anyway...the picture at the top is of a neighbor that I lived close to in Virginia. Let's see if I can get the next picture to be placed right after I write this....... Nope didn't happen....hmmmm Anyone want to chime in on how I can get the picture to go right after my wording? Thanks. As you can see from those two pictures...very well maintained landscape and exactly what I want to achieve some day in my own yard. Right now I am in a PMQ (military housing ) and leaving in only a few months...I'll soon have my own place again when we move and buy a house again. I'll post this much and keep working on how to get this right. LOL
