I let the small rectangular plot in the front go by itself for a year. Then just a few months before realizing that we would be moving because of my hubby's decision to change careers and move to Ontario from New Brunswick, I opted to make more gardens. In the end it was alright to continue with working on them even after finding out we were moving as it kept me busy for the time he was gone ahead of the girls and I. I loved going out in the garden every day to see how it was doing, what had sprouted and the colors made me smile each and every day. I wanted to be different then most of the gardens I'd seen in my neighborhood and decided to go with two circular plots right next to my rectangular one. It was unique to say the least and I loved that. I ended up planting lots of reds and yellows in the circular plots to compliment my blue shutters on my house. Here are the pictures of the rectangular and the circular plots together after they were planted.
Here's the before (soon after planting it)

Here's the after from planting one of the circular plots...

In the circular plots I planted mostly annuals in the top half and the bottom half I planted creeping phlox in 3 different colors to be able to fill the bottoms the next year. The tops I was planning to think out more and do as perennials the next spring, but for now it was what colors I could get in there at that moment. Geraniums, pansies etc...

Here's the full on view of the garden plots, I thought I had given my front yard some curb appeal with this arrangement. What do you think?
