This milk can was painted a matte black (originally a green)and because of the black background I found the picture POPS off the can. I painted this for a good friend who was given this can by a family member a few years before. This was my first "large project" as it was done on an antique milk can and I was nervous.

Close up of picture..

This milk jug was painted the same matte black as the milk can and a lighthouse scene was selected by the owner of the jug to remind her of her home town in Nfld. She was thrilled by the end result.

taracotta, your milk jug is WONDERFUL! You are a very talented painter. I had to come and check it out when you posted on my blog. Geez, mine are nothing compared to yours--I just take a can of spray paint and squirt it a few times. I actually have 5 milk cans. I buy them whenever I come across one, which is not often anymore. I am off now to read more of your blog. I am going to put you in my "daily reads" section. That purple petunia is beautiful, too!

Thanks so much Zoey. I am loving painting sceneries lately and plan to do more to be able to do a calendar with the photos I take of the sceneries I've painted. Need to do more winter scenes and fall ones now for those months. Thanks again.
