Another kitty for Sarah's room....chasin' a butterfly.
She wanted one that was "chasing a butterfly" and so we found this cute kitty that had it's paws up in the air after something and added a butterfly (which had to be her favorite color...purple)LOL I love this kitty (all fluffy and cute) but HATE it's paws...I just couldn't get them right, but she loves him and that's what matters. LOL

My girls' rooms that I started to paint "murals"
The pictures aren't really "murals" as they are going to be to be scattered around the room in different spots, so I guess you can call them just "paintings". My youngest, Sarah, LOVES kittens. She wanted kitties in her room painted doing different things. The first one I got to do for her was a kitty sleeping in a basket over her bed. She found a picture she liked on the net and I just sort of "worked with it". Here are her pictures of the finished product. This is the first of several kitties that she wants painted.

Hannah, my oldest daughter (9) wanted lizards and Geckos..anything to do with "reptiles". She is not a "girlie girl" and loves anything like that. She was then fully wanting the lizards idea after I told her that I'd seen some lizard pulls for her drawers and we could switch them out. LOL I told her my idea of a hole in her wall and a lizard coming out of it...(Trompe L'Oeil painting) which in english is "fool the eye". I told her with shadowing etc..I could make it look like the hole was in her wall and that the lizard just "ventured" through it. She loved the idea and I did hers today. Here's her first painting done.

Painted retirement gift for my father in law.
My father in law retired from the Canadian Coast Guard on January 17th after many many years in it. My mother in law let me borrow a picture of his "old" ship that he started out on and then a picture of the recent ship. I took those and painted him this picture for a gift for his retirement. He loved it. Said he'd treasure it forever and just kept looking at it...I was very happy to say the least. He actually said that he thought it was a picture of his ship until he took a closer look and noticed it was painted...that was great. LOL

These are a few pictures I grabbed from the net and ones that are actually mine for the room....I'll let you know which is which. LOL
This is an old piece of tin ceiling tile that I got a rummage store for $5.00. I love it and know that it will look great in either the shabby chic room, or even in my entry way..don't know yet. LOL The rest are inspirational pics...the one of the sagey colored room is the color I'm going for for my room, the barn stars are great in teh white, this room is one of my Prim friends rooms, Marnie...She's a Canadian gal like myself. LOVE her room.

Tin Ceiling tile Picture frames.
I have two gift certificates from one of my favorite places in town that sell primitive goodies...I got them for Christmas....I spent one today on these two tin ceiling tile frames that I just couldn't decide which one to buy and ended up with both. LOL I loved the colors. I haven't decided where to hang them yet or what pics to put in them..but couldn't pass up getting them both for under $30.00. That's with all the taxes and such. Yip...It was a steal. I Just loved that they were unique and would go well with my mustard and red addiction. LOL

My Spare room ideas
I have a spare room downstairs that I want to use just as a guest room, I have a small "Craft room" already that I just store my crafting supplies, so I don't need to set anything up in the spare room other then a bed (I have) a dresser (I have) and maybe a couple of night stands (I don't have) This is my idea for that room. My whole house is transforming into a Primitive country wonderland...LOL I love that, but in that spare room and maybe even my bathroom upstairs I'd like to have "Vintage" shabby chic kind of look. You're probably wondering what that is...well, to be honest I'm not really sure what it ALL entails, but I do know that in the spare room I want light colors, whites and a lot of "OLD". I have these ideas...For the bed I have a large 9 pane antique chippy white painted window(with glass still in it) I want to attach that to the wall above the bed, sort of a headboard if you will, but not so that anyone sleeping in that bed would have to worry about knocking the glass out of it. LOL Then the walls are going to be painted a nice light green...not too light. Then, I'm totally in love with antique door knobs..not just any though...I LOVE the old glass ones...I remember my grandmothers old house having them and also my nannie and grandpi's bathroom door having one (still does..LOL) I really want to incorporate those in that room, one for the door itself and then above the window (a valance holders)I'm going to try and find pictures of all these ideas to add to this post. I also want to bring in a nice light fixture for that room too. Not sure what yet. Right now it's just got a bulb hanging down in the center of the room. LOL YUK. Anyway...it's a vision that once I have it started I'll post pictures of it's progress...First step, paint that room a nice light green color. SAGEY...that's the color I'm thinking. The bedding will be a nice floral "pastel" quilt that will have lots of lace pillows and such on the bed. I can so picture this whole room in my head...I just need to find everything to put it together. Wish me luck. LOL

Anyone ever see a "Snowman tree"...Painted this one. LOL
I don't think I've ever seen tiny snowmen in a tree before...limbs brushed with snow..yes, but never lil' tiny snowmen...Anyway, this is a pattern by Jamie Mills-Price that I painted up for my sister in law for a gift. We draw names and I got her...well, technically hubby got her name, but I took over or she might have gotten a tool or something. LOL
